It’s finally here.
The kids have been in their costumes since they got up this morning. Their ready for the pre-trick or treating party that our neighbor is hosting and all the candy they can carry. Woo Hoo.
With as fun as Halloween and Trick or Treating is I wanted to share some safety tips for your little ghosts and goblins.
*Make sure an adult or an older responsible youth will be supervising children under 12.
*Costumes should not be so long that they are tripping hazard. Falls are the leading cause of injuries on Halloween.
*Plan the route trick or treaters intend to follow.
*Instruct your children to travel only in familiar areas and along an established route.
*Teach your children to stop only at houses that are well-lit and never to enter a stranger’s home.
*Establish a return time.
*Tell your youngsters not to eat any treats until they return home.
*Incorporate glow sticks into your child’s costume. It will make them easier to see in the dark.
